Inlaws family started "Filips" In the late 20's. Have heard family stories of Al Capone showing up numerous times at midnight with armed body guards. Grandma was only 9-or 10 and it scared the death out of her. Al's stop was for some of great grandmas renouned "mom's homemade rye bread sandwiches". Obviously everyone left with sandwiches in hand. Fast forward to 2010, my wife and I eat there at least once a week, the bluegail, perch, walleye, and prime rib is the best. Brian is to be commended, it's tough being able to consistently put out a extremely tasty bill of fare.

Our first visit to the Hofbrau was just Great. The Tuesday night specials can't be beat! We will definitely be back soon. Good job.
